Dear David, I’ve been a teacher in two countries for 29 years. You are a great teacher; you answered every question I would have asked if I had been there. You were so poised.
For those of us who don’t have the opportunity or skills to attend schools like Stanford, MIT
(Media Lab), or Carnegie Mellon, there are books I’ve discovered as a teacher and a writer that will help almost anyone be more creative. I don’t have space here for titles, but here are a few writers that can help you be more creative. Edward de Bono, Roger van Oech, Todd Silver, Daniel Pink, Michael Michako, Dan Roam, and Charles Thomas. You have to already be creative to find creativity books, because they’re all over the bookstores; they’re in art, writing, psychology, design, business, and lots more.David, presenters like you have made TED.com the best web site in the world. ‘
TED.com means: technology / entertainment / design
Because of speakers like David Merrill, TED.com could also stand for other words.
TED; TEACHING / ENCOURAGING / DEVELOPING
and
TED; TALENT / ENERGY / DARING
and
TED: THINKING / ENLIGHTENING / DISCOVERING
SLOGANS FOR TED: 1. What school should have been.

3. Cliche Killer -drawing outside the lines to push the envelope out of the box ahead of the curve
4. Antidote to boredom
5. Put TED in your head
6. Take 2 TEDs and call me in the morning
7. TED’s not a guy he’s a WHY?
8. I dare you to watch a TED and not think
9. Rewrite your brain withTED
10.I get a TED prize every time I watch
11.Be a TED HEAD
